How to upload files to Facebook group 2017

How to share files in a Facebook group 2017

Hi Paul here from PRwilson Media your social media personal trainer. Now, when you post to a Facebook page you can’t add a file, you can’t add a pdf or anything like that, but the good news is that if you are in a group you can do exactly that , you can share really useful resources and upload them straight to your Facebook group. Here’s how you do it.

So where do you find the option to add a file. Well if you look here, across the top , I click more and there you can see add file.

Now when it comes to finding and uploading the file you’ve got two options. One is direct from the computer, and one from a shared area online using dropbox.

The maximum file size is 100 MB which is pretty substantial. So what I’m going to do is I’m going to upload a PDF document. I’ve typed in my message to go with it. Now I can select choose file.

And ‘I’ll search for it. , select the file and then click open.
And that should now start to upload. You can also click post and you can see that now as a normal post .You can see download, preview or upload a revision – that’s just for me who can do that. So I’ll click on preview, and so as you can see that’s how it looks. I’ve also got the ability to download it direct.

And now when I go back to the main front page you can see that files has been added as an extra tab and you can see the file there. So all the resources that you share overtime can appear in this list of useful files. So I’m sure with your individual groups and how you want to share information you could find some great uses for this. You can promote special offers and sign ups and all that sort of thing into those documents and just give the people in your group that extra value that really makes them stick around and see what’s going on. So that’s how you add files to Facebook groups you can also create little documents within there where you could for example encourage people to leave their facebook page details so you can promote a list of pages , ones that people can access. All sorts of ways of doing it. Please have a look at this group, free social media training on Facebook. Just do a search for that. And certainly please check out my youtube channel where there are playlists such as this one which has currently over 100 videos, step-by-step training like this one. So I’m Paul from PRwilson Media your social media personal trainer. Cheers for now!

I followed the directions and it put the file out there, but it did NOT put the Files tab there. In fact my group doesn't have any of those tabs at the top, they appear as a menu in the upper left corner of the screen. But I didn't get a Files menu item added there either, so I don't know how to get that item to appear.

Hey Paul how do you make sure the the file you uploaded is only in the Files and not on the front as well?

It's ok. Found it. I just had to create a group to do that. I thought I already had a group created

I don't have any of those options on my page. Is this something that has to be paid for to get?
