Learn how to install software from an ISO file by either burning the ISO to a DVD or CD or by mounting the ISO and by installing without the need to burn a disc!

A lot of software from DreamSpark comes in ISO format, so it’s probably a good idea to learn how to use these ISO files.

Download links to software:

Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 users – you don’t need to download or install this software to burn ISOs.

Windows Vista and older users – download ONE of the two pieces of free software to burn ISOs:

CDBurnerXP:
ImgBurn:

Windows 8 and 8.1 users – you can mount ISOs by right clicking on an ISO and selecting ‘Mount’ (or by double clicking on the ISO file).

Windows 7 and older users – you need to download and install software to ‘extract’ the files from the ISO files so you can install the software without burning to a disc:

7-Zip:

WinRAR will also work (right click file, select WinRAR and select Extract), but please be aware that 7-Zip is free and WinRAR is shareware:

I have a few files from the same language course series and no matter which one I click on it always plays the first one. Is this normal?

Would you suggest the same procedure (Virtual Drive install) for repairing/reinstalling Win XP Media Edition 2002 from an ISO …. if we can't figure out how to make a bootable CD out of it?

When i mount it always says 'there was a problem mounting this software' i've tested this with multiple iso's and get the same error message. Any thoughts on the cause of this error?
